What happened
Star Alliance agreed with Incheon airport on September 8, 2026 to take control of Asiana's West lounge on Terminal 1's fourth floor near Gate 42, with a branded room due in the fourth quarter of 2026. Admission covers Star Alliance business and first class passengers plus Gold members with one guest. Asiana's last moment in the alliance is 11:59 p.m. Korea time on December 16, 2026. Korean Air absorbs the carrier the next day.
October 15, 2026 is the final date to credit Aeroplan or other Star Alliance miles from Asiana flights. Aeroplan awards on Asiana can still be booked and flown through December 16, 2026. Korea's Fair Trade Commission approved keeping Asiana Club miles in a separate balance for 10 years when they move into SKYPASS. The East lounge shuts on October 1, 2026. The Central and West rooms remain open during the transition and continue to accept Priority Pass. 14 Star Alliance airlines will still connect Incheon with 29 destinations once Asiana is gone. Size and Priority Pass access for the converted lounge have not been announced.
