What happened
IHG One Rewards is paying registered members 3X Maharaja Club miles on stays from September 15 through December 31, 2026, and 2X or 3X points from October 1 through December 31 after a first stay with no points bonus. Both require registration. Nights finished before registration earn nothing.
Maharaja Club members who set Air India as the earning preference before check-in get the miles on a direct rate on ihg.com. Most brands credit 2 base miles plus 4 bonus miles. Candlewood Suites and Staybridge Suites credit 1 base mile plus 2 bonus miles. Miles take up to 6 weeks to post. Consecutive nights at the same hotel count as one stay, and only one room earns the bonus.
Later direct stays earn 2X points, or 3X in the IHG app. Stays of $30 or less per night do not qualify. Award nights and OTA bookings are excluded from both promotions. LoyaltyLobby says the Maharaja Club earn is usually worse than taking an IHG points bonus and converting points to miles later. Register for the points promotion and book later stays in the IHG app for 3X, switching earn preference to Air India only when Maharaja Club miles are the goal.
