What happened
Chase is paying an 80% bonus on Ultimate Rewards transfers to IHG One Rewards through 11:59 p.m. ET on December 3, 2026. The minimum transfer is 1,000 Ultimate Rewards points, which becomes 1,800 IHG points. Transfers typically post in about 5 hours and are final.
AwardWallet values recent Ultimate Rewards redemptions at 2.07 cents per point and IHG redemptions at 0.69 cents, implying about 1.2 cents per Chase point with the bonus. Matching Chase Travel's Points Boost rate of up to 2 cents would require IHG awards of at least 1.11 cents each.
A two-night Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo award at 128,000 IHG points would take 72,000 Ultimate Rewards after the bonus. Chase Travel prices a similar room at 69,805 points with the Sapphire Preferred. Sapphire Reserve Points Boost bookings can make the portal cheaper still.
Price the stay in Chase Travel before transferring and only move points against an IHG award that already beats the portal.
