What happened
Avianca LifeMiles is paying email recipients a bonus of up to 145% on miles purchases from September 16 through September 25. A single purchase of 51,000 to 200,000 miles before bonus earns the 145% rate. Buys of 1,000 to 20,000 miles get 125%, while 21,000 to 50,000 miles get 135%.
Purchases run in 1,000-mile packages at USD 33.00 before tax. At the 145% bonus those miles cost 1.35 US cents each. No transaction may exceed 200,000 miles before bonus. No member may receive more than 1,000,000 miles in a calendar year, bonus miles included. The offer cannot be transferred to another member. Members in listed Latin American countries do not qualify. Bought miles cannot be reversed or refunded.
Purchased miles partly count toward elite progress except Status Magno, though Avianca flying is still required to earn status. Finding a seat can be difficult, and LifeMiles are sometimes sold cheaper with 160 to 170% bonuses. Buy only against an award that can be booked today.
