What happened
Delta Air Lines has quietly implemented a major restriction on its 20-minute baggage guarantee. The policy promises 2,500 bonus SkyMiles to passengers whose checked bags do not arrive at the carousel within 20 minutes of the flight's domestic arrival time. Previously, travelers had up to 72 hours to submit a claim for this compensation. Under the new terms, that window has been shortened to just two hours. The intent is to control costs associated with the benefit. This change makes it more difficult for passengers who are busy with transfers or have already left the airport to successfully claim their miles before the deadline expires
