What happened

American Airlines and World of Hyatt will stop the enhanced loyalty partnership that started in 2019, though members who link accounts by 11:59 p.m. CT on November 15, 2026 keep remaining cross-program awards through each program year.

World of Hyatt members with linked accounts can still pull AAdvantage awards from Milestone Rewards through December 31, 2026. American said Hyatt status chosen as a 2026-2027 Loyalty Point Reward remains valid through February 29, 2028. Once the enhanced deal is over, an eligible Hyatt stay can still credit 500 AAdvantage miles in place of Hyatt points if an AAdvantage number is given at check-in. A Hyatt free night taken as a Loyalty Point Reward expires 180 days after it posts.

Hyatt as a Loyalty Point Reward ends. So does Enhance with Miles. Unofficial yearly status challenges between the two programs are expected to disappear. The extra one point or mile per dollar that posted automatically already stopped after 2024. Hyatt is building an exclusive partnership with Delta Air Lines that is expected to bring back reciprocal elite earning, with rates and a launch date unpublished. Link by November 15 for leftover 2026 milestones; the 500-mile Hyatt stay earn needs no link.
