What happened
American Airlines and World of Hyatt set February 28, 2027 as the last day of their loyalty partnership, and unlinked members must connect AAdvantage and World of Hyatt accounts by November 15, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. CT to keep remaining benefits.
The programs launched the tie-up in 2019 and already removed reciprocal miles and points earning on flights and stays in 2024. American told members both programs had mutually decided against continuing. Already-linked accounts require no further action. Unlinked members who miss the November 15, 2026 deadline lose current-year benefits.
World of Hyatt rewards can be earned through February 28, 2027 and chosen as Loyalty Point Rewards through March 31, 2027. Hyatt elite status selected as a 2026-2027 Loyalty Point Reward lasts through February 29, 2028. A Hyatt stay can still post as AAdvantage miles if an AA number is given at check-in. Reciprocal elite matches and the Hyatt milestone toward American Platinum status end with the partnership.
