What happened
World of Hyatt opened online point transfers between eligible members in October 2026. Transfers remain free. The change replaces a slower process and adds an annual cap plus a frequency limit on sending and receiving points.
Each transfer counts as qualifying activity and extends expiration on both accounts by 24 months. Incoming points can be used for awards but do not help the recipient earn elite status. Only Base Points count toward tier qualification. Families can still pool balances across eligible members.
Some members shift points to a companion so the award books under higher elite status. Globalist Points Advance allows a booking before the receiving account holds the full balance, which leaves time to combine points.
Use online transfers for a larger award or a 24-month expiration reset, and stay inside the new annual cap and frequency limit.
