What happened
Eligible IHG One Rewards members received 73,500 points for $350 from October 10 through October 13, a 0.48-cent cost after a 100% bonus on a 35,000-point purchase and a 3,500-point gift. LoyaltyLobby reports a $2,000 purchase produced 403,500 points at 0.496 cents each.
The bonus required a single transaction of at least 35,000 points. Terms said the extra 3,500 points would post within 6 weeks as a separate deposit. LoyaltyLobby says they arrived a little more than a week after the sale closed. The offer was exclusive to intended recipients and could not be forwarded or stacked. Purchased points are not refundable and do not count toward elite status. Remaining room under the 200,000-point calendar-year cap limited how many points someone could still buy.
