What happened
LoyaltyLobby found three paid meals available to pre-order on KLM short-haul flights from 25 October 2026 while testing an Amsterdam to Athens booking. A Classic Caesar Salad was listed at $14.30. A Poke Bowl with Salmon was $16.60. Pancakes with Red Fruit were $15.50.
The pre-order is network-wide for travel on or after that date. Short-haul business class keeps the existing paper box meals. KLM's website showed random text and code during the test. LoyaltyLobby called the prices grossly overpriced and doubts many European passengers will buy.
Economy passengers should not expect complimentary meals from late October 2026. Platinum and Ultimate members still get a complimentary drink and snack. Skip the paid pre-order meals unless you must eat.
