What happened
EVA Air is selling Infinity MileageLands miles at up to 40% off from September 22 through October 8. The 40% discount applies only to purchases of 45,000 miles or more. Smaller amounts are still on sale from 5,000 miles, in 1,000-mile steps.
Purchased miles cannot exceed 50% of an award on EVA Air, UNI Air or Star Alliance partner flights. The rest must already have been earned. One membership can buy at most 150,000 miles in a calendar year. Miles must be purchased on evaair.com via the Points platform and cannot be combined with another buy-miles offer. Purchases are non-refundable and do not count toward elite status.
The implied price is 2.4 U.S. cents per mile, higher than the 2 cents charged in EVA's earlier 50% off sale.
Buy only to complete an award that is already half earned, and stay under the 150,000-mile yearly cap.
