What happened
IHG One Rewards is emailing some invited members 20,000 bonus points after 2 paid nights completed within 60 days of registration. Invited members need to register by the date on their email.
The 2 nights may be consecutive or split across stays, if both finish within 60 days of registering. Each night has to be booked directly with IHG at a qualifying rate and carry at least $30 in eligible charges per night. Reward nights and Points & Cash stays do not qualify. Bookings through online travel agencies also do not count. Bonus points can take up to 6 weeks to post.
Frequent Miler thinks the targeting favors members who have not stayed at IHG recently and notes a Diamond elite was not selected. The site values IHG points at 0.6 cents each and puts the 20,000-point bonus at $100.
If the invitation arrived, register and finish 2 paid nights booked directly with IHG within 60 days.
