What happened
IHG One Rewards is paying 3X Miles & More miles on qualifying paid stays from October 1 through November 30, 2026. Members of both programs must register on IHG's site and set Miles & More as the earn preference before check-in. Qualifying stays are paid nights at a direct eligible rate booked on ihg.com.
Most brands pay 2 base miles per dollar, or 6 miles total. Extended-stay brands pay 1 base mile per dollar, or 3 miles total. Award nights and points-and-cash bookings do not qualify. Bookings made through an online travel agency are ineligible. Consecutive nights at the same hotel count as one stay, and only one room earns the bonus when multiple rooms are booked. Nights completed before registration do not get the bonus.
Miles may take up to 6 weeks to post. Switching the earn preference means forgoing IHG points, and the 3X miles rate is often a weaker return than earning IHG points and converting them later.
Register and switch to Miles & More only if those miles are needed from upcoming paid IHG stays.
