What happened
IHG has launched a new IHG Business Rewards offer for members and stays in Greater China (Mainland, Hong Kong & Macau) between May 1 and December 31, 2026. IHG Business Rewards members can earn triple points for stays/meetings/events + 5,000 bonus points for every 5 nights booked using IHG’s Corporate Travel Portal. Note that there are two separate offers: 3X points for stays, meetings & events You normally earn 3 points per USD (elite qualifying) when booking stays for others and arranging meetings and events. This has been bumped to 9 points per USD. The bonus points are not elite qualifying, and there is a max spend of $20K per event to which these points apply (base + bonus). 5,000 Bonus Points for Every 5 Nights IHG Business Rewards members can also earn 5,000 bonus points for every 5 nights booked using the Corporate Travel Portal. The bonus points are capped at 20K per month from this offer (20 nights). Terms and Conditions of this promotion: To be eligible for the IHG Business Rewards 3X Points offer (the “Offer”), a person must be an IHG Business Rewards member in Greater China, which is in accordance with the IHG Business Rewards Program Terms & Conditions, and the Business Rewards member must have registered for the Offer. By clicking “register now” in connection with the promotional materials for the Offer, a Business Rewards member is registering for the Offer and agreeing to these Terms & Conditions. Once an IHG Business Rewards member has registered for the Offer, the member will be eligible to earn Triple the IHG One Rewards points on Qualifying Spend for all stays, meetings, and/or events that are booked during the period from May 1, 2026, through August 31, 2026 (“Booking Period”) and completed during the period from May 1, 2026, through December 31, 2026 (“Offer Period”). IHG Business Rewards members who book participating Greater China IHG hotels via IHG Corporate Travel Portal for others during the Booking Period and actual stay during Offer Period will receive 5000 points for every 5 nights booked as rewarding points. Members can earn max 20,000 additional points for each month. Additional details on Qualifying Spend (including all spendings when book accommodation, meeting or events on behalf of others) are provided below. The time needed for awarding points can vary with each promotional offer, so please allow up to 6 weeks for any earned bonus points to be posted to the recipient’s account. For this Offer, earning “3X” or “3X points” or “Triple points” on stays or events booked and completed within the Booking and Offering periods as set forth above means the total number of regular “base points” and promotional “bonus points” combined will equal three (3) times the base IHG One Rewards points the member would normally receive just for being an IHG Business Rewards member. Therefore, under the Offer, a member can earn three (3) base points for every $1 USD of Qualifying Spend and an additional six (6) bonus points for every $1 USD of Qualifying Spend, for a total of nine (9) points for each $1 USD. The first three (3) base points earned are considered Elite Qualing Points that count towards IHG One Rewards Elite status. The additional six (6) bonus points awarded as part of the Offer are Non-Elite Qualifying Points under the IHG One Rewards program.
