The Points Guy's Eric Rosen walks through stacking the Chase Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables credit of up to $300 a year with other dining credits to save hundreds of dollars a year.
Exclusive Tables, run with OpenTable, is for Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Reserve for Business. Credits at participating restaurants split into two $150 halves. The card must be linked to OpenTable. A prior reservation is not required.
The American Express Gold Card pays up to $100 a year at eligible U.S. Resy restaurants after enrollment and a Resy link, $50 per half-year. The linked card can pay even if the booking was not on Resy. The Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card credits up to $25 a month worldwide, $300 over 12 months. Rosen says a split check lets that monthly credit sit on top of another dining benefit. Merchant offers must be added before purchase and can carry a minimum spend or a percentage cap.
Link the Chase card to OpenTable and the Gold Card to Resy before dinner, then split the bill against unused dining credits and any attached merchant offer.
