What happened
Some Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express cardholders are seeing a targeted Amex Offer that pays a $200 statement credit after $900 in qualifying airfare through February 28, 2027. More than one airline purchase can be combined to reach the minimum, and tickets must be bought directly from the airline in US dollars.
Third-party bookings do not qualify. Vacation packages and charter flights are excluded, as is inflight spend. Membership Rewards applied to a fare do not count toward the $900, though taxes and fees on award tickets can if billed in USD. Gift cards are listed as excluded, but Frequent Miler's readers report that American Airlines gift cards bought from the airline still triggered the credit.
The offer will not appear for every Brilliant cardholder. Add it in the Amex app if it appears and put qualifying USD airfare on the Brilliant card before February 28, 2027.
