What happened
Southwest Rapid Rewards members with a targeted offer can buy up to 60,000 points per day at as little as 1.5 cents each through October 29, 2026. The 50% rate does not appear for every member. Some members instead see 45% off, which is 1.65 cents per point.
Members can buy 2,000 to 60,000 points per day with no annual cap. The maximum discount starts at 5,000 points, and a 60,000-point purchase at 50% off costs $900. Bought points do not count toward elite status or Companion Pass. Purchases cannot be refunded or reversed. Southwest says deposits can take 72 hours, though AwardWallet users report instant posting.
Southwest points have recently averaged 1.3 cents each, with typical awards now running from about 1.15 cents to 1.72 cents as prices track cash fares. The 1.5-cent rate matches the airline's best recent buy-points sales. Buys below the discount threshold still cost 3 cents.
Confirm the targeted rate in-account and buy only against a near-term award worth more than the sale price or to top off.
