Amex requires 2-night FHR stays for the $600 lodging credit from 2027

What happened

American Express is adding prepaid Airbnb Luxe stays to the Platinum Lodging Credit and will require a 2-night Fine Hotels + Resorts stay from 1 January 2027 to earn the $600 annual credit.

Amex is renaming the annual hotel credit the Lodging Credit. The benefit remains up to $300 in statement credits semi-annually for Platinum Card and Business Platinum Card holders. Only prepaid bookings on AmexTravel.com or the Amex Travel app count. Hotel Collection and Airbnb Luxe already require 2 nights. Airbnb Experiences that redirect to a third-party platform, such as live-event tickets, are excluded. Fine Hotels + Resorts pricing usually matches the best available rate with extras such as breakfast for 2 and a 4 p.m. checkout. Those hotels can cost more through Amex than they do elsewhere.

Amex put the 2-night Fine Hotels + Resorts rule in the benefit terms, not in a headline. The change makes the credit harder to use on short North American trips.

Book 1-night Fine Hotels + Resorts credit stays before 1 January 2027, then use 2-night prepaid Amex Travel bookings.
