What happened
The Air Canada Signature Suite beside Gate E77 at Toronto Pearson will shut on September 30, 2026 so the airline can expand into the adjacent former Plaza Premium Lounge. That lounge closed in January 2026. It remains open through September 29.
During the works, eligible Signature Class passengers get a dedicated queue into Terminal 1's international Maple Leaf Lounge. Air Canada aims to reopen in December 2026 and finish the larger footprint in early 2027. Vancouver's Signature Suite stays open. Access rules are unchanged and still exclude U.S., Mexico and Caribbean Signature Class flights. Star Alliance Gold and Maple Leaf Lounge access, including the American Express Aeroplan Reserve Card, still do not grant suite entry.
Eligible Toronto Signature Class passengers lose the à la carte pre-flight dinner this fall but get the priority Maple Leaf line plus a return invitation valid through 2028 that can be used even before an economy international flight. Air Canada has not said how those invitations will be sent.
Use the suite by September 29 if you can, then watch for the return invitation rather than treating the lounge visit as the make-good.
