United Airlines confirmed it is exploring a 'Eurobusiness' style seating configuration for its new Airbus A321XLR jets. The concept involves blocking middle seats in select economy rows, giving window and aisle passengers a guaranteed empty seat next to them. This setup is common on European narrow-body aircraft but is being considered by United to enhance the economy experience on its new long-haul jets flying to Europe. The XLRs will also feature a walk-up snack bar. United clarified this is not for its A321 'Coastliner' transcontinental jets. The move may also help meet FAA flight attendant staffing requirements based on seating capacity thresholds
