United will fly LAX and SFO to Traverse City from June 2027

What happened

Traverse City will get its first California nonstops on June 19, 2027, when United starts Saturday flights from Los Angeles and San Francisco. The Boeing 737-800 service runs through September 11 with 16 domestic first-class seats and 150 in the main cabin.

Extra Wednesday flights operate June 30 through July 7 and September 1 through 8, around the National Cherry Festival. Most of the season is Saturdays only. The routes are seasonal, not year-round. United already serves Traverse City from Chicago and Denver, plus Houston and Washington Dulles, so California passengers can skip the usual hub connection.
