What happened
United confirmed every unique summer 2026 international route will return in 2027, including Greenland, and is adding 10 all-new destinations. Chief network planner Patrick Quayle said those routes all stay. Summer 2026 flying to Croatia and Puglia returns too.
United is putting more flying into southern Europe, where demand held up, instead of another try at Scandinavia. Bergen and Stockholm underperformed. New cities include Marseille and Toulouse in France. Valencia and Ibiza add Spain, with Olbia and Catania in Italy. United has no plan to resume Dakar, which it flew in 2025.
The lie-flat Coastliner A321neo missed its summer debut and has no arrival timetable from Airbus. It was built for top transcontinental flying from Newark, then JFK, with 20 Polaris suites and 12 Premium Plus recliners. United will put it into service on arrival and may use the A321XLR for limited cross-country flying. It will not keep that long-haul jet on domestic routes.
Watch 2027 schedules for Greenland and the new southern Europe cities; leave Coastliner transcons off the calendar until United takes delivery.
