What happened
United Airlines will name new international routes at 7 a.m. ET on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, for service that starts sometime in 2027. A 94-second social video billed as "The Cabin: Destination Decoded" teases those cities with clues. Network planning chief Patrick Quayle called it a big one on Instagram.
United typically stages two major long-haul drops a year. The fall transatlantic package is larger than the spring winter-season one. The August reveal arrives several weeks earlier than usual, ahead of American's and Delta's typical fall announcements.
New Airbus A321XLR flying, mainly to Europe, is expected to account for much of the growth. Extra 787-9s could free widebodies for other routes. Those extra European markets could add destinations for 2027 travel.
