What happened

United will fly 13 new routes in 2027, including 10 cities it does not currently serve, with the first flights as early as March 27. Launches stagger through June 2027 and concentrate on Europe. Newark will see 8 new European destinations, including the first U.S. nonstops to Luxembourg and to Ljubljana.

New city pairs also include San Francisco to Okinawa and Dulles to Toulouse. New A321XLRs with 20 Polaris suites and 12 Premium Plus seats will open the Luxembourg and Toulouse routes. United will add daily Los Angeles to Osaka on a 787-9 and daily Denver to Paris on the same type. Dulles to Milan will run 3 times a week on a 767. San Francisco to Tel Aviv is planned as a restart around late March 2027.

The expansion gives MileagePlus more award options to less-touristy European cities and Okinawa. Several new markets have no other U.S. nonstop today. Seasonal 2026 routes from Newark are also slated to return.
