Southwest takes up to 40% off select base fares through Oct 8

Southwest is taking up to 40% off base fares on select flights for bookings made October 5 through October 8, 2026. No promo code is needed. Eligible travel runs from October 26, 2026 through March 3, 2027, and the discount is a cap rather than a uniform cut.

Hawaii interisland flights sit outside the sale. Blackouts hit continental U.S. itineraries around Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, January 18, February 12 and February 15. Separate Thanksgiving and winter blackouts apply by direction on any itinerary that links the continental U.S. with Hawaii or Anchorage, and on those that reach St. Thomas, San Juan or an international destination.

Holders of existing tickets can cancel and rebook at the sale price. Rebook by October 8 if a search turns up a lower fare that is not on a blackout date.
