What happened
American Express is targeting some cardholders with an Amex Offer that posts a $200 statement credit after $450 in Marriott room rate and room charges through November 30, 2026. It is available only to cardholders who have the offer enrolled. The $450 can be reached in one purchase or several, and only charges that post during the offer window qualify.
Bookings must be made directly with Marriott. The offer is limited to participating Marriott hotels in the U.S. and U.S. territories. Canada and Mexico are included, as is the Caribbean. Vacation Club and Design Hotels stays are among those excluded. Gift cards and points purchases do not qualify. Only room rate and room charges count.
Frequent Miler notes that a $200 credit on $450 of spend is a 44.4% rebate, versus the up to 20% these Marriott Amex Offers typically pay as a statement credit. A $900 stay can be split across two household cards that both have the offer, for two $200 credits.
Open the Amex app to see whether the offer is enrolled, then put $450 of room charges on that card before November 30, 2026.
