What happened
JetBlue is introducing BlueFirst as its first domestic first-class cabin, with 12 recliner seats on Airbus A220s and A320s and 16 on A321s. The Collins Aerospace recliners, similar to American Airlines first class and fitted with Tuft and Needle flex foam, will start appearing later in 2026 on aircraft that do not have lie-flat Mint. Each seat has a 13.3-inch Bluetooth-ready screen plus extra legroom and recline.
On flights of 899 miles or longer, JetBlue will serve boxed meals. The cabin also gets specialty coffee and Parcelle-curated wines, with ordering from the seatback screen. Standard and flex BlueFirst tickets include 2 free checked bags and no change or cancellation fees. Those fares also get Group 1 boarding. A basic BlueFirst fare will carry restrictions. BlueFirst does not include BlueHouse lounge access in New York City or Boston.
Installs pick up in 2027, with a majority of the fleet done by the end of 2027 and retrofits wrapping up in 2028. Look for BlueFirst later in 2026 and more widely in 2027, and do not assume BlueHouse access or flex-fare rules come with every BlueFirst ticket.
