What happened
IHG is matching registered American Express Platinum cardholders in Mainland China to One Rewards Platinum Elite through 31 December 2027. 10 qualifying nights between 15 September 2026 and 31 December 2027 extend that status through 31 December 2028.
A separate cashback of RMB 370 requires the same registration and an American Express charge of at least RMB 1,800 at participating hotels through 31 December 2026. Matched status applies at more than 7,000 IHG hotels worldwide and includes 60% bonus points on qualifying stays plus a welcome amenity. Room upgrades and late checkout depend on availability.
IHG says this is its first status match with an international card network in Mainland China. Full terms sit only in the Amex China Mini Program. Platinum Elite offers limited benefits versus Diamond. Register in that program if the Platinum is issued in Mainland China, since the match and cashback are not available to cardholders elsewhere.
