IHG One Rewards Excludes UK-issued Debit Cards from Elite Qualifying Points

IHG One Rewards has updated its earnings matrix to clarify that debit cards issued in the UK (via Revolut) do not earn elite qualifying points, while those issued in China continue to earn them

What happened

IHG One Rewards has updated the criteria for what earns elite qualifying points. Specifically, debit cards issued in the UK will not earn elite qualifying points, a change made in preparation for the launch of the IHG x Revolut debit card. In contrast, IHG debit cards issued in China continue to earn elite qualifying points. This creates a divergence in earning status for the same card type based on issuance region. US-issued IHG debit cards do not earn elite qualifying points but offer other benefits like the fourth night free on award redemptions
