IHG One Rewards has clarified the eligibility rules for its Confirmable Suite Upgrade certificates. According to IHG's Diamond/Ambassador desk, these certificates can only be applied to standard entry-level suites designated by the hotel. Specialty suites or premium categories—such as those with Club Lounge access, enhanced views, or upgraded features (e.g., Junior Suites or Club-level suites)—are typically not eligible for confirmation using the upgrade certificate. If a standard suite becomes available, the upgrade can be applied; otherwise, upgrades to higher-tier rooms are subject to availability at the hotel’s discretion.
