What happened
IHG One Rewards began letting targeted members buy points on October 21 with a bonus of up to 100% through November 5, 2026. A purchase of at least 5,000 points in one transaction is required. The exact bonus shows only after login.
The standard annual cap is 200,000 points, though some accounts may buy 250,000 or more. Earlier 2026 buy and gift activity reduces the room left to purchase. Bought points and the bonus do not count toward elite status. They are not refundable and taxes may apply. The offer cannot be forwarded.
LoyaltyLobby puts a 100% bonus at 0.5 US cents a point, the usual IHG sale floor for the year. US co-branded cardholders with a fourth night free are the group most likely to benefit. Skip the sale unless the bonus and remaining cap after login already beat cash on a bookable stay before November 5, 2026.
