Amex launches Hilton Honors card in Canada with 70,000-point bonus

Hilton and American Express released Canada's first Hilton Honors American Express Card with a CA$150 annual fee and a welcome bonus of up to 70,000 points plus a Free Night Reward for applications through January 11, 2027.

New Canadian cardholders earn 60,000 points and the free night after $3,000 of spend in the first 3 months, then 10,000 more after $500 of spend in month 13. The card includes Gold status. Current or former holders of this card are not eligible. Hilton purchases earn 6 points per dollar. Eligible gas, grocery and dining purchases in Canada earn 4 points per dollar. All other eligible purchases earn 2 points per dollar. Calendar-year spend of CA$12,000 adds 50,000 points. CA$40,000 in a calendar year earns Diamond status. Authorized-user cards have no annual fee and their purchases count toward the bonus and Diamond thresholds.

The Free Night Reward is for a standard room for two with no points cap. It must be booked by phone. Some properties are excluded and the certificate expires 12 months after issuance. Foreign-transaction fees apply. Gold is already available on the Canadian Amex Platinum. Apply by January 11, 2027 for the welcome points and the free night.
