What happened
UK and EU residents with mid- or top-tier hotel elite status can buy Royal Club Gold Sparrow, which is Oneworld Sapphire, for USD 149 through 7 November 2026. Entry-level hotel members pay USD 49 for Silver Jay, Oneworld Ruby, or USD 248 to reach Gold Sparrow. The match is sold through StatusMatch and lasts 12 months.
Applicants must enrol in Royal Club and hold elite status in one of 12 named hotel programs. Proof such as a card photo is required. Approval is supposed to come within three days, with the new tier posting within 5 business days. Payment must be made with a card issued in an eligible country. An ID check may be required. Matched members do not receive upgrade vouchers until they later requalify.
Sapphire benefits include lounge access on some American and Alaska US domestic flights. Royal Jordanian and StatusMatch may end or change the promotion at their discretion.
