Delta Air Lines is launching new service between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Vancouver International Airport (YVR). The carrier will operate twice-daily flights using Airbus A319 aircraft, with the new route beginning on November 21, 2026. This marks Delta's return to the LAX-YVR market, having last flown the route in 2018. The new service will be Delta's only nonstop connection from Southern California to Canada. Vancouver, known as "Hollywood North" for its film industry, is also a major base for Delta's SkyTeam partner, WestJet. The route launch occurs as Delta moderates overall capacity growth due to high fuel prices, having suspended previous growth guidance after energy spikes in late February. Despite this, Delta continues to add routes in competitive markets, including recent additions to Hong Kong, Melbourne, and Sonoma County. Competition on the LAX-YVR route is significant, with Air Canada, American Airlines, Flair Airlines, United Airlines, and WestJet already serving the market
