What happened

Delta Air Lines announced a change to its SkyMiles-Starbucks partnership, reverting to a simple 1 mile per $1 spent earning structure for all purchases at participating locations. This new model takes effect on August 5, 2026. Under the current policy (through Aug. 4), members must reload a Starbucks card with at least $25 to earn miles, with earnings tiered by reload amount ($25–$49.99 earns 25 miles, up to $100+ for 200 miles). The new structure eliminates the minimum spend requirement; any transaction earns miles directly. Reloaded funds themselves do not earn miles; earnings are triggered when those funds are used for purchases. The double-star benefit on Delta travel days remains unchanged
