Delta Air Lines is delaying the introduction of its A321neo aircraft equipped with lie-flat Delta One business class seats until approximately 2028. The airline ordered 189 A321neos, with about half delivered. The specific configuration intended for premium service includes 16 Delta One seats (1-1 with privacy doors), 12 Delta Premium Select seats, 54 Comfort+ seats, and 66 Main Cabin seats. Certification issues with the selected Safran VUE seats caused the first delivery in October 2024 to be stored. As a temporary measure, these aircraft are flying with a 44-seat first class cabin. Delta Chief Commercial Officer Joe Esposito confirmed the lie-flat product will be in service in about two years, confirming the 2028 timeline
