What happened
Delta has filed to add Delta Connection nonstops from Austin Bergstrom to Northwest Arkansas National Airport, with the first Austin departure on March 7, 2027, just before 9 p.m. The first return from XNA is set for the next morning, March 8, 2027. SkyWest will fly the route as Delta Connection on an Embraer 175.
XNA sits outside Bentonville and is the closest airport to Walmart headquarters. Austin is a Delta focus city that has grown from 28 peak daily departures in 2019 toward as many as 70 daily departures by March, though Delta has not called it a hub. Southwest remains Austin's largest airline. Delta is planning a second, larger Sky Club there.
