What happened
IAG has put a free month-view award calendar on the Avios site covering British Airways flights booked through that carrier's Avios program, with Iberia and Aer Lingus in the same view. Anyone with a free Avios loyalty account can enter airports and a month, set traveler count, pick one-way or round-trip and filter by cabin. A full circle means good availability. A half circle means limited space. Hovering a date shows seat count and Avios price by cabin.
Clicking a date shows times and rates, then booking moves to the operating airline's site. The Avios calendar cannot ticket and shows nonstop flights only. Connecting search is planned but not live. Qatar Airways and Finnair Avios inventory is omitted. Taxes and carrier-imposed surcharges do not display and can be high on British Airways. U.S. Chase Travel Together Ticket holders do not get extra award seats the way U.K. American Express Companion Voucher holders can.
The calendar helps most on nonstop searches from Heathrow. Madrid and Dublin serve as the hubs for the other two carriers. Spot dates on the calendar, then finish on the operating airline's site and check taxes and surcharges before committing.
