BA cuts The Club qualification by 50% for Gulf members

What happened

British Airways has told The Club members based in the Gulf, and those who frequently travel to or from the region, that status now requires 50% fewer Tier Points, replacing an earlier 20% regional reduction.

LoyaltyLobby reports a UK-based member who mainly used BA to and from Dubai received the same email. Dubai service resumed this week after 8 months without UAE flying, and capacity remains reduced. The outage covered a large part of the current qualifying year, so Tier Points are still difficult to collect. Other Gulf carriers had already eased qualification because of regional disruption.

Look in The Club inbox for the 50% lower thresholds if the Gulf is home or a regular British Airways routing, as no public registration page is described.
