What happened
Some American Express cardholders can earn a one-time $49.99 statement credit after a single online purchase of $49.99 or more at bbc.com/subscribe by December 31, 2026. The targeted Amex Offer has to be enrolled on an eligible card before the purchase counts.
Only a direct online purchase in US dollars at bbc.com qualifies. Purchases through intermediaries do not. The credit is one-time.
BBC subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled, and a later charge can hit the card on file. Cardholders who subscribe and cancel before renewal can net a free year of BBC.com.
Enroll the eligible card in Amex Offers before buying at bbc.com/subscribe, then cancel before renewal if a second year is not wanted.
