What happened
American Express will add 6 €20 Lounge on the Go dining credits at Frankfurt and Munich airports for German-issued Platinum cards from October 1, 2026, the day Lufthansa lounge access on those cards ends.
Cardholders open the vouchers in the Amex Experiences App and redeem them by scanning a QR code at participating outlets. A cardholder can use 1 voucher per calendar day, up to 6 a year. A partner or supplementary Platinum card does not create a separate daily credit. Two people on one card share a single €20 credit. Amex has no Centurion Lounge in Germany and presents the credits as a lounge substitute.
Amex will publish the list of eligible vendors in September. Wait for that list, then decide whether 6 €20 airport credits still justify the German Platinum after lounge access ends.
