Virgin Atlantic is retrofitting its Airbus A330-900neo fleet with a new premium layout featuring 48 Upper Class seats and increased Retreat Suites, debuting in November 2026

What happened

Business Class (Upper Class): Increased from 32 to 48 seats. The product remains Vantage XL suites (staggered with doors).
Retreat Suites: Increased from 2 to 6. The new layout places four additional Retreat Suites at the bulkhead of the second cabin, offering solo window seats for the first time.
Premium Economy: Increased from 46 to 56 seats.
Economy: Decreased from 184 to 128 seats. The first aircraft with this new layout is expected to debut on November 5, 2026, on the London (LHR) to New York (JFK) route (VS45/46). The airline plans to gradually roll out this configuration to other routes, likely replacing A350-1000 service on some transatlantic legs to maximize premium revenue
