What happened

United Airlines announced the expansion of its Japan network this winter with two new routes. First, starting December 11, United will launch seasonal three-times-weekly nonstop service between San Francisco (SFO) and Sapporo (CTS) using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. This marks the first-ever nonstop flight between the continental U.S. and Sapporo, targeting winter ski and seafood travelers. Second, beginning October 24, United will add new daily year-round service between Chicago O’Hare and Tokyo-Narita using a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. This will make United the only U.S. airline flying nonstop between Chicago and Narita, complementing its existing Chicago to Tokyo-Haneda service. The new Narita route improves connectivity to Asia-Pacific destinations via United and ANA partnerships
