What happened
Singh Investment Group paid $14 million in March 2026 for the closed Last Hotel in St. Louis, which is expected to reopen as a Hyatt Centric on October 15, View from the Wing reports. The price is about $99,000 per room and came in below a previous $16.5 million asking price.
The property was an Unbound Collection hotel from June 2020 until it left Hyatt in May 2021. Cash reservations still went through, but Hyatt would not honor award bookings and instead returned the points. On March 6, 2025 the hotel closed with no warning during a receivership, and about 82 guests had to go elsewhere. A $4 million renovation is in the works, and the hotel will return as a Centric rather than Unbound.
World of Hyatt members should again be able to earn and redeem there. Hyatt has already put up a Downtown St. Louis Centric page. Check that page for award space near the October 15 reopening.
