Targeted: Citi extends AAdvantage Loyalty Point match through 2028

What happened

Citi has extended through December 31, 2028 a targeted match that gives primary Citi AAdvantage Business cardholders 1 Loyalty Point for every Loyalty Point an authorized user earns on eligible purchases. The prior end date was December 31, 2026.

Authorized-user spend normally credits Loyalty Points only to the authorized user's AAdvantage account. The offer also credits the primary cardmember on purchases that post from January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2028. Both can earn AAdvantage status from the same spend. Matching points can take 8-10 weeks to appear after they post to the authorized user. Miles from that spend still go into a pool the primary can allocate, separate from Loyalty Points.

The offer is limited to select cards and is not transferable. Points posted to an authorized user before January 1, 2025 do not count. Closing the account or switching to another Citi AAdvantage small-business product during the period can end eligibility.

Frequent Miler says holders of an eligible card should try to register even if targeting is uneven. The match matters most when authorized users already put a lot of spend on the account.
