Citi/AAdvantage Business annual fee rises to $150 on Jan 24, 2027

What happened

Citi and American Airlines will raise the Citi/AAdvantage Business annual fee from $99 to $150 on renewals beginning January 24, 2027. Dual Loyalty Point credit from employee-card spend takes effect that day. New accounts keep a 12-month annual-fee waiver.

An employee card with $125,000 in eligible spend can generate 125,000 Loyalty Points for that employee and 125,000 more for the primary cardmember, enough for two Platinum Pro awards. American shows the dual-credit rule only through December 31, 2028. Cardmembers who moved from the old Barclays business product qualify once migration is complete. Redeemable miles credit the company AAdvantage Business account. Loyalty Points land with the person who spent.

A $100 annual inflight statement credit takes the place of the old 25% rebate on inflight food and Wi-Fi. It excludes Admirals Club purchases. Holders who spend well above $400 a year inflight come out behind. The card earns 3 miles per dollar on AAdvantage Hotels and AAdvantage Cars and 2 miles per dollar in one chosen business category.

One stream of employee spend can qualify two people for elite status through 2028, which is why the $150 fee is worth paying.
