What happened

Star Alliance has officially opened its new lounge at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN) Terminal 3, replacing its previous location in Terminal 1. The opening ceremony took place on April 28, 2026, presided over by Ambar Franco, VP of Customer Experience, and Qi Yaoming, Deputy General Manager of the airport. The lounge spans approximately 1,400 square meters with seating for 245 guests and includes a 700-square-meter outdoor garden, a rare feature in airport environments. It operates 24 hours a day to accommodate international travelers across varying flight schedules. The design incorporates Lingnan culture elements, including a kapok flower-inspired sculpture and a dedicated tea experience. Access is granted to First and Business class passengers, as well as Star Alliance Gold status customers, traveling on member airline flights departing from CAN Terminal 3. Ten Star Alliance member airlines operate from this terminal, including Air China, ANA, Singapore Airlines, and Turkish Airlines, offering 1,500 weekly departures to 52 destinations
