What happened
Doctor of Credit reports that Chase’s new $300 and $100 IHG food and beverage credits produce an error in the Chase app unless the cardholder is checked in at an eligible hotel with their member number on the stay. The Premier Select credit is issued as $75 each quarter. The Premier and Premier Business credits are issued as $25 each quarter.
Chase introduced the Premier Select card and raised annual fees on the existing IHG cards. The in-stay rule is stricter than a typical statement credit, which does not require a hotel stay.
The credits are less flexible as a result and may not offset those higher annual fees. Use them only during an eligible IHG stay and weigh that limit before paying the fee.
