What happened
Marriott has opened Moxy Niseko in central Niseko Village with gondola access at the base of Mount Niseko Annupuri. The 310-room hotel adds a casual Bonvoy option beside Park Hyatt and Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Japan's premier ski area on Hokkaido.
Two categories are listed: a queen loft with extra twin bunks and a twin with two twin beds. Both are about 194 square feet, with the sink in the sleeping area and pegs instead of closets, which may make storing ski gear difficult.
Cash rates start at $88 a night in the coming months and at $192 from January through March, though most of those nights are priced at $400. Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono starts at $1,550 a night this January. Marriott Bonvoy award rates are not loaded yet.
