KLM will add free Starlink Wi-Fi on long-haul from mid-2027

What happened

KLM will start installing Starlink on intercontinental flights from mid-2027, free for Flying Blue members in every cabin. The work will be phased, and there is no date yet for a fully equipped long-haul fleet.

The Boeing 777 and 787 fleets are the likely candidates, as are newly delivered Airbus A350s. Airbus A330s being phased out are not expected to receive Starlink. Short- and medium-haul aircraft will keep Viasat. Some older 737-700s and 737-900s headed for retirement still lack any connectivity.

Starlink delivers gate-to-gate internet with high speed and low latency, a step up in bandwidth from the Intelsat and Panasonic systems on most of the current widebody fleet.

Nothing to book now; watch for the mid-2027 long-haul Starlink rollout if KLM intercontinental flying is a regular trip.
